Welcome to our weekly edition of AI & Finance™!
Hello friends, we're back again, and what a week it was! Big changes are happening here at AI & Finance, and we have a newsletter full of weighty content to boot. That content is where we'll keep our focus for now. In our AI & Finance headlines column, we draw parallels between the "PR speak" we encounter as a journalist and assurances from AI developers and AI adopters that they merely seek to augment financial services workers, ot replace them. In AI Education, we steer in a different direction-one which helps readers to use AI more effectively-in a discussion about prompt chaining. It was yet another big week for AI venture capital activity, as you'll find in our Top 5 VC column. This week, we also had quite a bit of AI-related market volatility, security-related issues with AI and, to put it plainly, a lot of doubt about the technology and its roles in wealth management, financial services, markets and the greater economy moving forward. We explore all of these questions, to some extent, in this week's content... CHECK IT ALL OUT BELOW!

We trust our readers. Maybe too much. That's why we've become a little lazy and lax in our approach to putting together AI & Finance (and our other hand-written roundup feature and column, Advisor Tech Talk, which appears weekly in Digital Wealth News). Oh yeah, there's a lot to get to below, but first, we're going to talk about the fine polish that is put on financial artificial intelligence announcements. When we started writing these columns, which were originally merely alphabetical re-writes of press releases published on various online newswires, we were quite conscientious of what we like to call PR-speak. Today, you... CONTINUE HERE

How do you keep a dying person's heart beating? One step at a time. It's the same way you do everything else. So why should prompting a large language model be any different? Welcome to AI Education, where once again we're pondering what a weird childhood we had. Our mother was an intensive care nurse through most of our younger years, and leaned on us kids to help her with her continuing education requirements. One of the most difficult requirements was Advanced Cardiac Life Support, or ACLS. ACLS helps inform health care professionals of the best steps to take when someone's heart is... CONTINUE HERE

This week our overall AI venture capital activity retained its strength from prior weeks, with all five of our listed announcements coming in over $160 million and nine announcements total coming in over $100 million. The biggest announcement, per FinSMEs, came from Los Angeles-based robotics provider Atoms, which raised $1.7 billion to "integrate its newly merged multi-sector corporate assets, scale the production of its task-specific machine learning hardware, and accelerate full-scale industrial AI deployments across global distribution and heavy-industry networks," according to its announcement. Our second-place announcement was from the AI infrastructure space, where San Sebastian, Spain-based Multiverse Computing raised $570 million in... CONTINUE HERE

Digital Wealth News AI Reality Check is a new series exploring one of the biggest questions facing the wealth management industry today: Where is artificial intelligence delivering real value, and where do expectations exceed reality? In each edition, DWN speaks with an industry leader about practical applications, lofty promises and unavoidable challenges firms must navigate as they pursue AI. In this first installment, we connect with Mike Overdorf, President of The Sycamore Company, a technology provider that helps financial services firms capture the potential of their data. With decades of experience in helping wealth management firms modernize their tech infrastructure, Overdorf brings a... CONTINUE HERE

Moving a financial advisor's business from one firm to another sounds straightforward. In reality, it can involve hundreds of client accounts, stacks of paperwork and weeks of manual work. That complexity has made advisor transitions one of wealth managements biggest operational headaches. RFG Advisory believes artificial intelligence can change that. The independent registered investment advisor platform, which oversees more than $8 billion in assets under advisement and supports more than 100 advisors, has deployed Feathery's AI operational and decisioning platform to modernize one of the industry's most labor-intensive processes. Before the rollout, advisor transitions depended on spreadsheets, repetitive data entry and manual document... CONTINUE HERE

Rather than being dominated by the release of a single new model, the week's headlines highlighted four major themes shaping the industry: AI security following revelations surrounding autonomous AI agents; an escalating debate over open versus closed AI models; continued investment in AI infrastructure measured in hundreds of billions of dollars; and intensifying competition among the industry's largest technology companies. Governments, regulators, hyperscale cloud providers and AI laboratories all played central roles as companies including Nvidia, Microsoft, OpenAI, Anthropic, Meta, IBM, Google, Safe Superintelligence, Palantir and others positioned themselves for what increasingly appears to be the next phase of enterprise AI adoption... Artificial intelligence is big. So big that we have to wonder if and when it will come crashing down on us. Now, we recently asked if AI infrastructure and software could crash the markets due to structural issues, but with recent volatility across the technology sector, we're returning today to discuss the possibility of an AI bubble and the likelihood that a bubble bursts-or is bursting. Before we proceed, we'll go ahead and break one of our own rules by shooting at the messengers of AI financial doom. When we peruse the discussion of an AI bubble across the internet, we find...
