AI&F | WELCOME FROM THE EDITOR

Welcome to our weekly edition of AI & Finance™!

Hello, friends, we'd like to welcome all of you back to a full and growing AI & Finance newsletter, where we've returned to our full schedule of up-to-date content with plans to add more. It's been a few weeks since we've been fully "live" with this newsletter and it's great to return. Moving forward, there are several AI and finance issues that we will need to revisit, including ongoing concerns about AI disruption, what AI's role in the financial industry should ultimately be, various AI-related threats to market stability, and how AI relates to current and proposed financial regulations (including how AI decision-making intersects with fiduciary regulations). Those will wait for a newsletter to come. This week, we play catch up on some AI surveys and studies of note in our headlines column, while we give you a fresh AI Education piece on a sociocultural, perhaps even political, topic: AI;DR. The top 5 venture capital column is led by two billion-dollar-plus announcements, and this week's AI Intelligence spends an unusual amount of column space at the G7 summit. Every once in a while we come across a news item that deserves a more in-depth treatment than one of our round-up columns can afford, and that's why this week we've also dedicated an industry brief to a couple of recent partnerships for the AI powerhouse Anthropic... CHECK IT ALL OUT BELOW!

AI & FINANCE™ | NEWS FOR THE WEEK ENDING 6/19/26

Watch out, folks, we have a live one this week. Welcome to another AI & Finance, where I'm hauling in quite a nice catch in financial artificial intelligence headlines, including quite a few wealth management oriented pieces amid the usual smattering of lendtech and insuretech news. Before we get to all that, let's look at some of the recent data on AI that we think is relevant to the financial services industry, starting with a bit of market analysis from Markets and Markets projecting that the global AI market-all told-will reach $3.64 trillion by 2033, with financial services, healthcare, manufacturing, retail and... AI EDUCATION | What Is AI;DR?

It was at this point that almost all of us, humanity, that is, no matter how remote and how limited of experience, came to possess more than we could possibly consume, and more human connection than we could possibly keep up with, and thus, more peer-generated content than we could possibly read. It was in this atmosphere that a new abbreviation was born: TL;DR, meaning "too long, didn't read." Content that we came across online that was so long that we didn't care to read it-and we didn't care to the point that we felt like telling people about that emotion. As... CONTINUE HERE

Top 5 VC Deals of the Week in AI (6/17/26)

This week our overall AI venture capital activity continued its strength from prior weeks, with all five of our listed announcements coming in over $200 million and 7 announcements total coming in over $100 million. The biggest announcement, per FinSMEs, came from San Francisco-based Prometheus, which raised a $12 billion round at a $41 billion valuation to "acquire massive computing capacity, expand its specialized training data repositories, and scale its engineering presence across international markets," according to its announcement. Co-founded by Jeff Bezos, Prometheus develops an artificial engineer "designed to simulate physical laws, model real-world trial-and-error workflows, and automate the end-to-end design and... AI INTELLIGENCE | News For the Week of 6/18/26

The artificial intelligence industry experienced another eventful week marked by escalating geopolitical tensions, major talent shifts, frontier-model controversies, IPO preparations, and growing international efforts to govern advanced AI systems. Our top 10 stories are dominated by fallout from recent IPO news, leadership moves and geopolitical headlines. INDUSTRY BRIEF | Janus Henderson, Rockefeller Deepen Anthropic's Financial Services Reach

The race to embed artificial intelligence into the core of financial services took another significant step forward last week as two prominent firms-asset manager Janus Henderson and wealth management giant Rockefeller Capital Management-announced major partnerships with AI developer Anthropic. The announcements are notable not simply because they involve the deployment of generative AI tools, but because they represent a shift from experimentation to operational integration. Rather than using AI for isolated productivity gains, both firms are building proprietary systems designed to influence research, client engagement, advisor workflows, and investment decision-making. Taken together, the partnerships underscore a broader trend emerging across financial... CONTINUE HERE
