AI&F | WELCOME FROM THE EDITOR

Welcome to our weekly edition of AI & Finance™!

Hello, Friends, it was another week where subsequent AI headlines have been disrupting our homes, workplaces and communities like waves crashing ashore. Speaking of waves, as you'll see from our AI & Finance headlines column, we are in the last hours of a wonderful beach vacation. Even while we drink frosty drinks (sometimes with a little salt on the rim) and put the finishing touches on our tan, we've kept abreast of all the goings on in financial artificial intelligence. However, to lighten our load a bit, we've decided to re-run another two of our most read AI Education columns published so far this year. Elsewere, what readers will find is a slightly streamlined newsletter this week that is still full of the most essential information, from another noteworthy surge in venture capital announcements and regulatory news to what will likely be ridiculously large IPOs and more on Pope Leo's first encyclical, we've got it all here... CHECK IT ALL OUT BELOW!

AI & FINANCE™ | NEWS FOR THE WEEK ENDING 6/12/26

This AI & Finance introduction is going to be shorter than usual. It's not because there isn't plenty going on in AI, and it's not because we don't have a lot to say on the topic. In fact, it was a fairly busy week in the world of artificial intelligence in the financial services, and we have no shortage of thoughts and feelings on what AI's rapid proliferation into every area of our lives might mean moving forward. Let's face it, even with a hot zone in the Strait of Hormuz, a warming climate, primaries, finals series in two sports, a FIFA World... CONTINUE HERE

AI EDUCATION | What Is Decentralized AI?

Artificial intelligence and the financial services industry-infamous for being slow to embrace new and developing technologies-may seem like they're very different. But they're actually extremely similar in one key attribute: Despite what appears to laymen as a dizzying diversity, they're pretty centralized, with most of the power and influence being held by a relative handful of dominant organizations and companies. Chances are, if you've used AI, you know these actors-pure-play AI model providers like Anthropic, OpenAI; tech giants like Microsoft, Amazon and Google. The hyperscalers and incumbent big tech companies. They're like the Goldman Sachs, Bank of America-Merrill Lynches, Morgan... CONTINUE HERE

Top 5 VC Deals of the Week in AI (6/10/26)

This week our overall AI venture capital activity continued its acceleration from prior weeks, with all five of our listed announcements coming in over $400 million and 14 announcements coming in over $100 million. The biggest announcement, per FinSMEs, came from San Francisco-based Supabase, which raised a $500 million Series F to "expand operations and its development efforts," according to its announcement. Supabase develops an open-source Postgres development platform, or, in layman's terms, software solutions for the data management side of artificial intelligence. Our second-place announcement was from New York-based Flourish, which raised $500 million round which it will use to "build an in-house... CONTINUE HERE

AI INTELLIGENCE | News For the Week of 6/11/26

The artificial intelligence industry continued its breakneck pace this week, with major developments spanning frontier model releases, massive infrastructure investments, public-market preparations, government policy initiatives, and escalating competition among the industry's leading players. The week was dominated by the intensifying rivalry between OpenAI and Anthropic, the growing importance of AI infrastructure financing, new federal policy actions from the White House, and continued expansion by major technology firms seeking to secure the computing resources required for next-generation AI systems. For executives, investors, policymakers, and enterprise AI adopters, the week's developments offered a clear signal that the race for AI leadership is increasingly being fought... CONTINUE HERE

INDUSTRY BRIEF | DataDasher AI Adds Kevin Beard to Advisory Board

DataDasher AI, an artificial intelligence platform built to automate advisor workflows, has appointed wealth management executive Kevin Beard to its advisory board. Beard has also made a personal investment in the San Francisco-based company. The platform helps advisory firms handle meeting preparation, client summaries and follow-up workflows, with integrations into Redtail, Orion and Bento Engine. DataDasher is SOC 2-certified and says its users save 15 or more hours per week. "Most AI solutions are vaporware, offering limited efficiencies and surface-level intelligence," Beard said. "DataDasher is built around the actual work advisors do every day, so it addresses that problem in a way the... CONTINUE HERE

AI EDUCATION | What Is an AI Factory?

What came before, conceptually, is inevitably going to be an actual part of what's next. Artificial intelligence is part of a technological movement towards a new economic paradigm-away from 20th century labor-capital relations built on the principles of Henry Ford-style production, and now, away from the post-Fordist information age and towards what might be a post-information economy. At the same time, we're going to be applying the concepts introduced by industrialists and businessmen like Henry Ford to novel technologies for some time to come, it's no different for AI, and that brings us to this week's AI Education topic: The AI Factory...
