Welcome to our weekly edition of AI & Finance™!
Hello friends, welcome to another, truncated edition of AI & Finance. I write to you this week amid a world in turmoil, both domestically and internationally, and yet I am enjoying my final days of vacation on a beautiful, relatively undeveloped beach, far from the noise and tumult. I feel like another refuge from some of the more disturbing political and legal news of our time can occasionally be found in technology like AI. No matter what else is happening, AI keeps advancing and growing, which, of course, is raising some thought-provoking questions of its own. This week, in our AI & Finance headlines column, we have another full slate of action in financial services-related artificial intelligence news. Greg Woolf returns with an AI Education-esque column on what it means to be AI first. And we're also running a pair of our more popular AI Education columns so far in 2025... CHECK IT ALL OUT BELOW!

Welcome to another rundown of the week's artificial intelligence in financial services news-and while we saw a slowdown in wealth management and financial services news in early June, there's still a lot stewing in financial AI. We would like to note that there are a few revealing AI in decentralized finance and crypto headlines in our rundown this week, perhaps illustrating an area for further discussion. This week we also mark our last week of vacation, so we're going to refrain from the usual commentary and news rundown before our headlines and get right to the good stuff. After all, it's probably... CONTINUE HERE

An AI-first company treats artificial intelligence as the starting point for everything it builds-strategy, products, org charts, even culture. Instead of bolting ChatGPT onto old workflows, leaders begin every initiative by asking, "How would an intelligent system solve this from scratch?" and then re-architect teams, budgets, and metrics around the answer. The goal is not efficiency alone but transformative throughput: unlocking capabilities that were impossible-or unaffordable-under traditional software and human-only labor. Crucially, AI-first does not mean AI-only: where models hallucinate or lack context, humans supply judgement, ethics, and creative direction. By weaving AI into every core workflow-customer support, supply-chain... CONTINUE HERE

Welcome to another AI Education, this week, we're going to tackle generative UI, or generative user interfaces. So, by now, you're hopefully at least somewhat familiar with generative artificial intelligence, AI software that can create content seemingly out of thin air like Microsoft's Copilot and OpenAI's ChatGPT-4. While most users think of this content as media like images, video, audio and text, generative AI can also be used to produce code and brought to bear on software development. That leads us to user interface, the elements of software that users-meaning human beings like you and me-interact with as we work, play... CONTINUE HERE
This week our announcements are led by three deals exceeding the $100 million threshold. The top reported deal, per FinSMEs, came from Palo Alto, Calif.-based Glean, which raised a $150 million Series F in part to "support its continued product innovation, the expansion of its partner ecosystem, and international growth," according to its announcement. The next biggest announcement came from the cybersecurity space, where San Francisco-based Horizon3.ai raised a $100 million Series D. The top five also included companies in the procurement and construction spaces. Smaller funding raises that did not quite make our top 5 this week included announcements from the AI... Friends, this week saw a surge in AI advancements across hardware, enterprise, consumer, and regulatory fronts. From ethical concerns over surveillance and job displacement to major tech giants rolling out new generative features, the AI landscape is rapidly evolving-and raising new questions around trust, safety, and economic impact. AI ecosystem expansion: New AI tools-from government-grade Copilots to digital executive avatars-signal deepening entrenchment across sectors. Ethics & oversight intensify: Regulatory probes in the EU and heated debates on misinformation, hallucinations, and intellectual property. Job & economic ripple effects: Warnings of recessionary impacts and rising corporate retirement of white‑collar roles spark concerns... CONTINUE HERE

Have you ever notice how many abbreviations and acronyms are tossed out by technologists industry news writers with nary an explanation? I guess it's a good thing that I love being stumped and confused, especially when it comes to technology, as it sends me down a rabbit hole of discover. Which, I guess, is why this week on AI Education we're going to discuss the promise of AI-RAN, or artificial intelligence radio access networks. Of course, to get things started, we'll probably want to explain in brief what a radio access network is to make sure your eyes don't glaze over midway through... CONTINUE HERE

In this week's podcast, our dynamic AI duo - Al & Ivy - explore how crypto impacts the stock market, from low correlation to rising volatility, opportunity, and risk. The content was generated thru NotebookLM from this content source: "The Impact of Cryptocurrency on the Stock Market" published on April 21, 2025 on Cleartax.in. This analysis examines the multifaceted influence of cryptocurrency on the stock market, highlighting its relatively limited but growing impact. It explores how Bitcoin and Ethereum, the leading digital currencies, have historically shown low correlation with traditional stocks, although significant price movements can occasionally sway investor sentiment. The text further identifies key... CONTINUE HERE
